Wizkid talks about new Album ‘Morayo’

In a recent interview, Nigerian music artist, Wizkid has opened up about his next album, family, and Nigerian background.
Wizkid attributed his fashion style to “TV and magazines,” as well as his upbringing alongside twelve sisters.
“I grew up with sisters in the house. A whopping twelve, to be exact.” He said.
He also talked about his upcoming album, Morayo, named after his mother.
Wizkid stated that ‘Morayo’ which means ‘I see joy’, is an utmost respect to his late mum and says “I’ve named it my mum’s name.”
He also spoke about his children, he said “I’m trying to raise champions. I instil that into their minds […] that God has put them here on purpose.”
This demonstrates the profound impact his family has had on his life. Ultimately, Wizkid attributes his success to his heritage and his love for making his culture known to the world.
“It’s very important for people to know where the source of my magic comes from. I’m African, I’m Nigerian; that’s my blood, that’s my DNA. So, it’s important for me to push [Yoruba] out there – let people know about my culture. I like to know about everyone else’s culture, their way of life, and this is mine.” He said.
