Tems to be awarded prize for breakthrough artist by Billboard

The Grammy winner will be adding to a number of dazzling feats she has achieved in the international music industry.

Since receiving international attention in 2020 after her remarkable contribution to Wizkid’s smash hit ‘Essence’, Tems has broken through massive commercial success which has made her one of Nigeria’s biggest music stars.

This will be another monumental acheivement where the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter will be awarded the prize for Break Through artist by Billboard at the Women In Music ceremony slated for March 6, 2024.

Tems rose to international prominence after featuring on Wizkid’s smash hit ‘Essence’ which enjoyed huge commercial success and reached NO. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100.

After getting mainstream attention in the United States, her single ‘Free Mind’ also took a landmark by spending multiple weeks on the Billboard Hot 100,

The Nigerian international sensation was featured by rapper Future on his Grammy-winning smash hit ‘Wait For U’ which debuted at NO. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 thus making her the first Nigerian artist to debut on the top of the chart.
