Ini Edo slams Nollywood regulatory structure.

Veteran Actress Ini Edo has expressed her disapproval of Nollywood’s lack of regulatory structure following the death of her colleague Junior Pope.

Nigerians were shocked to learn of his passing and went into mourning, following several attempts to save Junior Pope after a drowning accident.

Addressing the incident, Ini Edo has stated that the late actor did not have to die for Nollywood to create the comprehensive and much-needed regulatory structure required to safeguard a whole production.

She suggested that Junior Pope’s death had to have some significance and called for an extensive restructuring of the system with practical rules that would protect everyone in an emergency.

In her words: “Jnr Pope did not have to sacrifice his life for Nollywood to realize the need for a long and much needed regulatory structure that would safeguard an entire production.
Yes… everyone is a producer now and all are guilty of negligence of some sort and this has to stop.
This is one sacrifice too many and must count for something. The system has to undergo a total overhaul with practical rules and regulations that cater to everyone in cases of emergencies.
I will never understand why the good ones go so soon. Rest on brother… This one cuts really deep.
