Wizkid Sparks Outrage with his Comment Labeling Don Jazzy; Influencer

BlastAdminNg | April 29, 2024

Wizkid’s conversation with his supporters has swiftly devolved into something odious with his few jabs at Davido, Ladipoe and Don Jazzy.

Early on April 29, 2024, Wizkid took to his X account to connect with his followers whereas doing so, he came across a post by Ladipoe which he contributed.

In the post, Ladipoe stated that Afrobeats is going through a phase of “Afrobeats is dead,” whereas Hip Hop has survived the “Hip Hop is dead” narrative.

In his comment meant to make fun of Mavin Record’s label head Don Jazzy, Wizkid responded by saying he never speaks to any musician that is signed by an influencer.
A lot of people reacted negatively to Wizkid’s statement since he called Don Jazzy an influencer.

Don Jazzy is one of the biggest on the continent and has accomplished remarkable milestones as a label head in the history of Afrobeats.
Despite being an influencer, he still supports musicians and content markers on his Instagram profile.

From his triumph with Mo’hit to his achievements with two generations of Mavin musicians, Don Jazzy has been one of the most influential producers and label owners in Nigerian music since 2004.

The largest record label in the world, Universal Music Group, just purchased Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records for an alleged sum of more than $150 million.

Since Wizkid is notorious for remaining silent, it is noteworthy when he publishes frequently.

The renowned Musician also sparked a huge controversy a few months ago when he publicly distanced himself from Afrobeats and advised fans of the genre to stay away from his next album, “Morayo.”
