“…there’s now a Big 4” declares Rema

Divine Ikubor, also known as Rema, a Nigerian Afrobeats superstar has declared that there are “no more big three,” placing himself in the same category as Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido.

In a long Twitter post on Saturday, April 28, 2024, the renowned singer talked about different topics around Afrobeats.

Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido in no specific order are referred to as the “big three” of the Nigerian music Industry and this is because of their significant accomplishments both domestically and longevity.

But as he implied in his tweet, “No more Big 3, there’s now a Big 4,” Rem thought he was deserving of the same title.

However, Rema continued to criticize some of his colleagues.
Obviously referencing the recent debate over the claims made by Wizkid, Burna Boy, Wizkid and Fireboy that their music isn’t Afrobeats, the superstar musician wrote in a follow-up tweet, “Afrobeats >> AfroAnything,”

“Tell your stylists to stop sending mails to brands with my name to get clothes imma pull up to your show and strip u on stage cuz that’s my shit HOE! fake celebrities, fake industry”, Rema said in another post.

“Labels get creative, stop trying to clone me,” the singer said as he sent a message to some record labels, who are trying to model their artists after him.”
