Tiwa savage’s film ‘Water and Garri’ to premiere May 10.
The producers of the Nollywood blockbuster Water and Garri, which star Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage in her first acting role, have announced that the movie will be released on May 10.
The director of the movie, Meji Alabi made the announcement on his Instagram page.
He wrote, “Always wanted to shoot a movie, so we did. Excited to share that out new film ‘Water & Garri’ @WaterAndGarri film is coming out on May 10th on @Primevideo.”
The long-awaited movie will get its official release on Prime Video, a subscription video on demand over the top (OTTP) streaming and renting service.
Alongside other Nollywood actors including Jemima Osunde, Mike Afolarin, and Andrew Bunting, Tiwa Savage makes her acting debut in the star-studded film.
The 2021 release of Tiwa Savage’s second EP song of the same name served as the inspiration for Water and Garri.
The singer delves into themes of love, identity, and self discovery in the five-track EP, all of which are featured in the highly anticipated movie.
Producers of Water and Garri state that the story revolves around Aisha, a driven fashion designer who is just starting her career in the US.
But ten years after a family grief, she returns to her hometown.
Things have changed back home; there is an increase in violence and general stress. As Aisha makes her way back to her family, she will have to face the shame she left behind and learn to live with her scars.
Movie Lovers should not miss Water and Garri because it has lot of mysteries that unfold in the movie.
