Grammy Awards: Burna Boy becomes first African artist to perform at live event

The Grammys has revealed that Nigerian megastar Burna Boy will be one of the performing artists at the 2024 live award show.
This will be another historic feat for Africa as Burna Boy is set to become the first African artist to perform at the Grammys live recording award show.
The announcement was made today, January 22, 2024 by the Grammys.
This will be another monumental feat for the Nigerian singer who holds the record of being the first Nigerian artist working within the Nigerian music industry to win a Grammy. He won it in 2021 as Best Global Album for his fifth album ‘Twice As Tall’.
At the 2024 Grammys which will hold on February 5, Burna Boy had been nominated in four categories which represents a Nigerian record for most nominations in a Grammy year. Among his nominations is the Best Melodic Rap Performance for his single ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’ featuring 21 Savage which makes him the first Nigerian lead artist to be nominated outside of the global categories.
